A stay abroad is an opportunity to develop professionally and personally and to form new friendships. It is the philosophy of Aalborg University that a good study environment offers the best conditions for professional development. That is why the university strives to make it easy for our international students to get to know the other students fast.
Among other things, you will get a buddy – a student at the university – who will introduce you to life as a student in Denmark.
The students are always engaged in several activities, and you are of course more than welcome to participate in them. Among the many activities are Friday cafés and the athletic association of the university – both great ways to get to know the other students.
Every Wednesday, there is an international evening at the Student House where you will be given the opportunity to meet other international students - probably some from your home country as well.
It is no problem if you don’t speak Danish. You will be given the opportunity to learn the language by signing up for the Danish language course, which is offered to all international students for free. Besides, most Danish students are used to speaking English and some of them speak German and French as well.
In Denmark, Aalborg University is renowned for having the best study environment in the country, which is mainly due to the study method. The close collaboration between the group members will allow you to get to know your fellow students very quickly. This provides for a good professional collaboration, but it is equally important that you have someone to talk to about issues that are not professionally related. Likewise, it is nice to have companionship when going to a café or to the movies if you need to take some time off from your studies.
